Saturday 19th February -

After a late breakfast eight of us took the bus to Mnajdra Temple, the oldest temple in the world built around 3000BC by the first Sicillian's to visit Malta. From the Temple we could also see Filfla, the 4th Island (Malta, Gozo and Comino being the other 3) and one of the 14 watch towers build by the Knights of St. John. After visiting the Temple we took a long route back, 1 hour walk, to the bus stop and made for home. Echo made a mixed platter for dinner which consisted of Pitta bread, salad, chicken escallops, ham, cheese and Emma provided some mashed potato.

Gavin finds a suitable tree to lean against.

And one less suitable tree.

Antje holding the island of Filfla.

The rays of the sun as seen through my sunglasses lens (hence the yellow tint).

(Left to right) Filfla, Gavin, the shadows cast by the clouds on the Mediterranean sea and in the foreground the Mnajdra Temple.

David, Gavin and myself decided to try some rock climbing in this quarry. In this photo david is in the foreground with Jen and Antje in the background.

An interesting sign we passed on the way to the bus. We didn't stop to find out how friendly it was though.
